Sailing School Croatia
Active and Adriatic Nautical Academy (ANA)
have put together a programme designed to
meet the needs of complete beginners who
want to learn and practice the basics of
recreational sailing. Courses commence at
the start of each holiday week and are progressive
and structured. There are short morning
chats followed by yacht-based sessions.
You may get wet, but it's warm, sociable
and after 3 days the majority are capable
of commanding the ten-meter long sailing
boats (Adriatic 1020 or Val 35) with only
slight supervision. top

programme is not confined to the port of
Mljet, nearly every day you will discover
one of the many uninhabited islands in the
Adriatic and be given time to relax in the
most idyllic of surrounds. After a week
you will receive your certificate, allowing
you to enjoy recreational sailing for the

Great cursing around unspoilt remote islands
scattered with small villages and marinas,
each one offering its own unique warm welcome.
The Dalmatian coast has a reputation for
stunning scenery, reliable breezes and an
abundance of sheltered bays and harbours.
Each island around Mljet is as beautiful
as the other and each offers its unique
charm, from the fortressed Island of Korcula
to the emote coastline of the Peljesac peninsula,
each day will offer the sailor a unique
and exciting journey. top

itinerary - beginner's course
During the six-day period of acquiring the
basic sailing knowledge, students sail on
ten-meter long sailing boats (Adriatic 1020
or Val 35) in the waters between the islands
of Mljet, Korcula and the Dubrovnik coast.
During the morning session the students
get ready to go afloat and receive detailed
explanations of all the activities on the
programme for that day, what course the
boat will take and what interesting islands
or coast lines you will visit.
On your travels with your qualified instructors
you will be thought how to act and what
to do in different positions on a sailing
boat, how to handle the ropes and sailing
equipment, how to perform the basic maneuvers,
trim and reef the sails and how to steer.
